Catering to the increased importance of sustainable raw material sources, JC Hagen (Vienna / Austria; www.bio-plast.com) has expanded its portfolio of biodegradable plastics materials. The company, which trades in feedstocks for standard thermoplastics – especially PET for beverage bottles – offers several biodegradable polymers for injection moulding, sheet extrusion and thermoforming, alongside biodegradable disposables like cups, plates, containers and cutlery. Renewable resources like corn starch, beeswax and cellulose will serve as feedstocks for the new materials.
