GREINER PACKAGING
Expansion at Swiss site / New building / Investment in injection moulding and product development
Greiner Packaging (Diepoldsau / Switzerland) plans to spend a total of CHF 10m (around EUR 6.6m) in Diepoldsau in 2010. Most of the money, some CHF 6m, will go into a new building in the Letten industrial park, where various processes are to be concentrated at one site. A further CHF 4m will be spent on introducing state-of-the-art equipment in the injection moulding segment, and improving the facilities for product development. At the end of it all, the Swiss site should be one of the most modern production facilities within the European network of the holding company, Greiner Packaging International (Kremsmünster / Austria; www.greiner-gpi.com).
The new building, which will house the entire administration, engineering, development, and machine manufacturing units, plus teaching and apprentice training, should be ready to open by the end of 2010. According to a statement, the company's processes at the site with 350 employees can be optimised by bringing together the functions with the four production departments and the entire logistics activities.
