Mitsui's stake in joint venture acquired
Fanuc (Oshino-mura / Japan; www.fanuc.com) has acquired the stake of its partner Mitsui (Europe: Düsseldorf; www.eu.mitsuichem.com) in the 50:50 joint venture, Fanuc Roboshot Europe (Neuhausen / Germany; www.fanuc.de). The deal includes subsidiaries in France and the UK. Fanuc and Mitsui established the jv at the end of 2005 to drive sales of the all-electric “Roboshot” injection moulding machines in Europe. The company in Russia has also now been completely taken over, but it is not yet clear whether Fanuc will also acquire Mitsui's interests in the similar joint ventures in Thailand and Malaysia.
