EXXONMOBIL CHEMICAL
New metallocene PE for film extrusion
ExxonMobil Chemical (Baytown, Texas / USA; www.exxonmobilchemical.com) has launched “Enable mPE”, a new polyethylene for film extrusion using metallocene catalysts. According to the manufacturer, this material can be used as a substitute for LLDPE and LDPE blends, thus reducing feedstock and investment costs. ExxonMobil says Enable mPE can be processed at relatively low temperatures and increases the output of extrusion machinery by up to 20%. Applications include shrink and stretch film, agricultural film, bags and laminated film.
