Plastipak Packaging (Plymouth, Michigan / USA; www.plastipak.com) has acquired two PET preform facilities from Mossi & Ghisolfi (M&G, Tortona / Italy; www.gruppomg.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 15.11.2006. Europa Preforme has integrated resin and preform facilities in Verbania-Pallanza, while Preforme Sud operates preform facilities in Anagni - both in Italy. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The businesses now operate under the name Plastipak Italia and bring to six the number of Plastipak locations in western and central Europe. Plastipak said that the acquisition will combine the management of the acquired companies with its own technology, strong customer relationships and business process expertise to support its continued growth in Europe.
