Medifiq Healthcare (Vantaa / Finland; www.medifiq.com) is to acquire Medisize Medical, a division of Medisize Holding (Nürensdorf / Switzerland; www.medisize.com), for EUR 65m.

Medifiq, a leading manufacturer of medical devices, drug delivery systems and personal care products, was formerly the medical technology division of injection moulding group Perlos (Vantaa / Finland; www.perlos.com) and was carved out in 2006 – see Plasteurope.com of 13.11.2006. Medisize Medical engineers and produces medical devices, packaging and airway management products. The combined sales of the companies following the acquisition will be EUR 103m. Willem van den Bruinhorst, currently CEO of Medisize Medical, has been appointed CEO of the new corporation.

Medifiq Healthcare’s board chairman Lauri Ratia said: “We will benefit from the two companies’ complementing competencies.
