Onex concludes takeover for CAD 960m / Majority owner Schad family agrees to accept lower payout
Cartel authorities in Canada as well as the superior court of Ontario have approved the sale of the world’s largest supplier of injecion moulding machinery, Husky Injection Molding Systems (Bolton, Ontario; www.husky.ca), to private equity group Onex Partners (www.onex.com) for CAD 960m (nearly EUR 680m).
Altogether, 99.9% of the attendance at an extraordinary general meeting voted to accept the offer, which was revised to allow minority shareholders to receive a slightly higher per-share price than majority owner Robert Schad and his wife, Elizabeth. The Schads agreed to lower their payout to push the deal forward. Without being specific, Onex managing director Anthony Munk said his company sees “a number of opportunities to grow the business.”
