Buyers are being sought for one of the largest independent injection moulding companies in the UK, Stadium Plastics (Hartlepool, Cleveland; www.stadiumplastics.co.uk). The company, which has two factories with a combined turnover of GBP 25m (EUR 36m), was placed in administrative receivership on 12 October 2007 but is continuing to operate with a full workforce of 480 employees.

The main Hartlepool plant is dedicated to the automotive market and has a prestigious OEM and Tier 1 customer base that includes virtually all the UK’s top carmakers. The smaller plant, which operates as Stadium Plastics (Midlands) Ltd, is in Hinckley, Leicestershire. It supplies both thermoplastic and thermoset mouldings to an automotive and consumer products customer base. The two factories have some 120 moulding machines in total, ranging in size up to 1,800 t. They are supported by in-house tooling facilities and 3D CAD design, printing, painting and welding operations.
