Purchase of injection moulding business in Slovakia / GBP 2m deal is first in central Europe
Rigid packaging specialist RPC Group (Higham Ferrers, Rushden / UK; www.rpc.eu) has bought the injection moulding business of DM Plast (Velky Meder, Bratislava / Slovakia; www.dmplast.com) for GBP 2m (EUR 2.98m). Founded in 1992, the company employs 120 and has a turnover of EUR 2.8m. Customers for its range of pharmaceutical and cosmetic containers and closures include Henkel, Unilever and Nestlé.
DM Plast, which has 20 injection moulding machines up to a clamp force of 280 t, printing and labelling equipment and its own mould-making facility and toolroom, also produces technical parts and automotive accessories. RPC says the acquisition, its first injection moulding facility in central Europe, is well situated to supply regional customers. It already has thermoforming plants in central Europe, notably Poland.
RPC has announced further consolidation in Europe which would provide attractive opportunities for organic growth and acquisitions (see Plasteurope.com Web of 20.06.2007).
