European extrusion systems moves to UK
US extrusion group Davis-Standard (Pawcatuck, CT; www.davis-standard.com) has relocated the extrusion systems portion of its European business from Erkrath / Germany to the factory of David-Standard Brookes (www.dsbrookes.com) in Birmingham / UK. The converting systems business remains in Erkrath.
The move is part of a reorganisation that, Davis-Standard says, will enable it to focus on its core customer base in Europe and the key brands, "Betol" and "Repiquet." The Brookes plant is currently undergoing a lean manufacturing transformation to improve cycle times on barrels and extrusion screws.
