DECEUNINCK
New Jersey plant to close in US reorganisation
PVC windows and profiles manufacturer Deceuninck North America (HQ: Hooglede-Gits / Belgium; www.deceuninck.com) will cease extrusion operations at its Oakland, New Jersey / USA site by the end of March 2007. The distribution centre at Pompton Plains, New Jersey will remain in operation. The move is part of the integration of the Vinyl Building Products division of Germany´s Thyssen Polymer, acquired by the Belgian group in 2003, and the Dayton Technologies business. The closure of the Oakland site, picked up in the Thyssen takeover, is part of Deceuninck´s "business plan 2009" and will be the final step in "site optimisation." Around 70 people will be affected by this consolidation.
Deceuninck North America holds a leading position in the American PVC window profile extrusion market with sales of USD 170m in 2005. The current production capacity of Deceuninck North America remains unchanged, but will be consolidated into its state-of-the art Monroe, Ohio and Little Rock, Arkansas facilities.
