ENVOSMART
Waste-to-fuel deal with Ozmotech signed
EnvoSmart Technologies (Roosendaal / The Netherlands; www.envosmart.com) and Ozmotech (Melbourne / Australia; www.ozmotech.com) have signed an AUD 190m (EUR 120m) deal to build as many as 31 plastic waste-to-diesel fuel installations across Europe. The plants will use Ozmotech´s "ThermoFuel" technology that is said to be capable of producing 9,300 litres of "green" diesel from 10 tonnes of unsorted plastic waste.
The first production line will be built near Berlin and requires an investment of EUR 40m. It will be operational in the first quarter of 2007 and will produce 38 million litres of diesel that complies with international and European standards from 42,000 t of plastic waste annually. Plants at Amsterdam and Eindhoven / The Netherlands, as well as in Poland and Sweden, will follow during 2007.
Cynar (London / UK; www.cynarplc.com) holds the ThermoFuel licence for the UK and Ireland (see Plasteurope.com Web of 11.08.2005). Its first fuel plant is under construction in Australia and is scheduled to start up in August, either in Ireland or Scotland, depending which site is first to get planning consent.
