ASSOCIATIONS
New Belgian plastics and rubber association
Belgium´s plastics and rubber industry processing associations Fechiplast (plastics) and Association Belge de l´Industrie du Caoutchouc, Abic (rubber), have agreed to form a joint organisation under the roof of the Belgian chemical industry association Fedichem (B-1000 Brussels; www.fedichem.be). The new grouping will be known as Association des Transformateurs de Matieres Plastiques et Elastomeres (Febelplast). President of the association is former Fechiplast head Henri Vliegen (Recticel). Former president of Abic, Richard Fraussen (Helvoet Pharma), has been elected vice president.
