AQUAFIL POLYMERS

Aquafil Polymers GmbH (D-21079 Hamburg; www.aquafil-polymers.de), a new marketing company established the German market by Aquafil Technopolymers S.p.a. (I-20020 Cerlano Laghetto/Milan; www.aquafil.com), PA compounds subsidiary of Italian polyamide group Gruppo Bonazzi (I-37036 S. Martino.B.A./Verona; www.gruppobonazzi.com), started operation recently. The company and a separate distribution offshoot, Polymer Service PSG GmbH (D-21079 Hamburg; www.polymer-service.de), were founded at the end of 2001 to enhance the group´s presence in Germany.

The Acquafil Polymers group currently has an annual throughput of around 40,000 tonnes. Its product range covers primarily PA 6 and PA 6.6, available either under the brand name “Aquamid” with various made-to-measure grades or under the name “Econyl” as economy products. Aquamid is available in different viscosities, either reinforced or non-reinforced, impact-modified, highly flame-retardant, coloured, UL-listed and UV-stabilised. There are also heat and hydrolysis-stabilised grades plus a transparent grade. Econyl represents the “inexpensive problem solution” for all applications involving specified NT product through to industrial grades.
