KLEINEWEFERS
Buy of remainder of Jagenberg / Cutting and winding business of Kampf Maschinenfabrik
Kleinewefers Verwaltungs-GmbH (D-47803 Krefeld) has acquired from Rheinmetall AG (D-40033 Düsseldorf; www.rheinmetall.de) its majority holding of 93.7% in Jagenberg AG (D-41468 Neuss; www.jagenberg.com) with effect as of 31 July 2003. The companies have agreed not to disclose details of the transaction. Röchling subsidiary Rheinmetall had sold the Jagenberg portfolio in stages, following a spectacularly unsuccessful overall sale of the company in 2000.
The remainder of Jagenberg that has now been acquired by Kleinewefers essentially comprises Jagenberg subsidiary Kampf GmbH & Co Maschinenfabrik (D-51674 Wiehl- Mühlen; www.kampf.de). According to Rheinmetall, the company, which manufactures cutting and winding technology for films, achieved sales of EUR 85m in 2002 with 395 employees. Kleinewerfers is the leading supplier of calendering and downstream equipment for the production of plastic film and laminates through KKA Kleinewefers Anlagen GmbH (D-81673 Munich; www.kleinewefers.de). This indirect acquisition of Kampf is aimed at expanding the Kleinewefers´ product portfolio.
