Eastman to close UK co-polyester plant
As part of a plan to restructure worldwide production, Eastman Chemical (Kingsport, Tennessee / USA; www.eastman.com) plans to close its co-polyester plant at Hartlepool in the UK. Negotiations are in progress about the future of the site which produces speciality packaging materials with 80 employees, said Eastman. The world market leader for PET said the shutdown will not affect supplies to customers.
