French plastics converters associations link / Some 40% of companies represented
Plastics converters´ associations in the French regions of Rhone-Alpes, Franche-Comte, Auvergne, Bourgogne, Provence-Alpes-Cote d´Azur and Languedoc-Roussillon plan to join forces in the “Alliance Zone-Est (Allize) Plasturgie” in March. The decision to link up was taken by members of the associations Groupement Interprofessionnel Plasturgie Rhone-Alpes (GIPRA, F-69441 Lyon cedex 03; www.plasticway.com), Groupement des Industries de la Plasturgie de la Mediterranee (GIPMED, F-13241 Marseille cedex 01; www.urip.org/gipmed.htm) and Plasturgie Centre-Est (PCE; F-01100 Oyonnax; www.plasturgie-centre-est.com), to which “Plastics Valley” with its 350 companies belongs.
GIPRA president, Emmanuel Rossi, will be secretary general of the alliance, which will have more than 800 member companies and represent around 40% of all plastics converters in France. The link-up is aimed at enhancing the companies´ competitiveness in the face of international competition. To keep close contacts with its “grass roots constituencies,” as PCE managing director Jerome Gauthier put it, Allize Plasturgie will have six regional offices, one each in Marseille (Mediterranean region), Clermont-Ferrand (Auvergne), Dijon (Bourgogne) and Besançon (Franche-Comte), along with two in the Rhone-Alpes region, at Lyon and Oyonnax.
