Contracts: Polyester plant in Australia / Extension in India
Zimmer AG (Borsigallee 1, D-60388 Frankfurt) has been awarded a contract by the textiles manufacturer Leading Textiles Pty. Ltd (Tullamarine, Victoria, Australia) to build a polyester plant at Tullamarine, a suburb of Melbourne. Total investment value amounts to more than DM 100m. The contract features a continuous polyester polycondensation plant, designed for a capacity of 120 tonnes/day, a 75 tonnes/day staple fibre line and a 20 tonnes/day textile filament (POY) facility.
Zimmer has also signed a contract with JCT Limited, a major company of the Thapar Group, for the extension of the polyester polycondensation and staple fibre spinning plant built by Zimmer in 1989 at JCT Limited's Hoshiarpur site in the State of Punjab, India. The order value amounts to approximately DM 36m. The extension will be 20,000 tonnes/year, raising the total capacity of JCT to 60,000 tonnes/year. The contract is to extend both the polycondensation and staple fibre spinning facilities and also covers the delivery of additional equipment for the production of POY and high quality draw-texturized yarn (DTY).
