Zeppelin Silos & Systems (Friedrichshafen / Germany; www.zeppelin-industry.com) is showcasing a comprehensive range of silo systems especially for the plastics processing industry at the "Fakuma 2006" trade fair (hall A6, stand 6313), being held at Friedrichshafen from 17-21 October 2006. The focus at the company´s booth is on a standard silo program developed for specific applications, that provide not only cost advantages but also time benefits.
"Depending on the intended application, we can take one of our standard products and customise it to the customer´s specifications," says Zeppelin sales manager Sven Ludwig. "This means that we can deliver a silo faster and more cheaply with pre-defined accessories." For particularly demanding applications, the company has a second range of silos with an individual design.

Silos with pre-defined features (for example, batch silos for automotive suppliers, storage silos for film manufacturers or feed silos for PET granules) can save time as well as providing cost advantages, says the manager. "By knowing what the customer needs, we can virtually deliver off-the-peg," he says, adding that made-to-measure products, of course, have their price.
Another focus of the Zeppelin exhibit at Fakuma is on service. Not many silo manufacturers have a special department devoted exclusively to customer service. Nevertheless, the service factor should not be neglected, the company stresses. Some kind of modification – for example, to cope with different bulk goods, repairs, relocation, retrofitting etc. – will be needed at least once in any silo´s life.
