As part of a trend that is becoming increasingly common, publicly listed injection moulding machinery producer Yizumi (Foshan City, Guandong / China; www.yizumi-group.com.hk) has appointed Hans Wobbe as head of its Strategy division – the latest renown European technology expert to join a Chinese company. Wobbe’s career included stints at leading industry players like Werner & Pfleiderer, KraussMaffei and Engel.
Speaking to Plasteurope.com, Wobbe emphasised that he serves in an advisory capacity and is not an employee of Yizumi. He remains an independent advisor within Wobbe Bürkle Partner (Hitzacker / Germany; www.wb-partner.com). He also continues to support technology transfer at the Institute of Plastics Processing in Industry and the Skilled Crafts (IKV, Aachen / Germany; www.ikv-aachen.de) at RWTH Aachen University / Germany.
Yizumi purports to be China’s second largest injection moulding machinery maker, with sales of about USD 650m. The company considers itself the country’s leading producer of die casting and rubber injection moulding machinery. In 2011 Yizumi secured all brand and technology rights of former US bulk machinery producer HPM and last year revived this name for a new range produced in China but marketed internationally.
