Injection moulding machinery, robots and peripheral equipment producer Wittmann (Vienna / Austria; www.wittmann-group.com) has established a subsidiary in Trencin / Slovakia. Managing director and CEO of the business is Juraj Majerský, formerly of Wittmann Battenfeld in Pisek / Czech Republic.
The subsidiary is responsible for technical customer support and spare parts supplies in addition to sales activities. For 2017, it is planned to recruit an additional salesperson and a service engineer to further strengthen the current team of four.
Michael Wittmann, managing director of Wittmann Kunststoffgeräte, said: “The positive economic development in Slovakia and the increasing demand for injection moulding technology in this region call for a more targeted development of this market than was required in the past. With our new subsidiary in Trencin, we can guarantee optimal support for our customers in this region.”
Around 250 injection moulding companies are active on the Slovakian market, the company said, and Majerský expects further growth, as the automotive suppliers’ industry is expanding rapidly in Slovakia. At present, three automobile manufacturers operate production plants in Slovakia: VW Bratislava, PSA Trnava and KIA Žilina. Jaguar Land Rover is beginning its activities on this market with the construction of a plant in Nitra.
