Wittmann Battenfeld (Kottingbrunn / Austria; www.wittmann-group.com) has signed an agreement appointing Plasteq Trading (Dubai / United Arab Emirates) as representative for its product range in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar. The latter company has been supplying the plastics industry with extrusion machinery and peripheral equipment for a decade already, and will be able now to add injection moulding machines and technologies to its portfolio.
Plasteq managing partner Hisham El Saadi said the greatest potential in the region is in the area of automation, as local producers strive to improve their processes or make inroads into emerging fields, including medical technology. He added that the Austrian group’s product range is also expected to sell well in more established industries, including the packaging and construction sectors.
