German engineering group Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H, Lengerich; www.wuh-lengerich.de) has had its own subsidiary in China since 1 January 2014. Located in Taicang, near Shanghai, Windmöller & Hölscher Machinery (Taicang) will serve as its local sales and service centre, taking on all activities previously handled by the group’s China agent, Johs. Rieckermann. To ensure continuity, W&H in fact took over all Rieckermann staff in charge of its activities in the People’s Republic.
Aside from new machinery sales, W&H Machinery (Taicang) will also handle customer requests for spare parts and provide services such as the installation of new equipment or other maintenance and repair works. In the future, the office also plans to offer die-head service and on-site training.
W&H said the subsidiary would be officially opened during the upcoming “Chinaplas” (www.chinaplasonline.com) fair, held in Shanghai from 23-26 April 2014 – see Plasteurope.com of 04.02.2014.
