In establishing a new office in Singapore, US petrochemical and building products company Westlake Chemical (Houston, Texas; www.westlakechemical.com) has set up the necessary infrastructure to promote growth in the region. At the new office’s official launch on 27 March 2012, Westlake chairman James Chao said the site would “serve as a platform for our greater Asian and global strategy.” Westlake’s Singapore branch will be headed by David Chao, who serves as business development director for the group’s Asia division.

Westlake produces a range of petrochemical products including ethylene, PE, styrene, propylene, VCM and PVC. The company also manufactures PVC pipes, windows and fences for building applications.
