European packaging company in worldwide expansion drive / Cooperation with CCL
Weener Plastic Packaging Group (D-26826 Weener / Ems; www.wppg.de) has lanched a worldwide expansion drive. The company already has production facilities throughout Europe (Spain, Hungary, Ireland and Russia, in addition to Germany) and is now looking for overseas cooperation partners in the US and Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela, as well as China. Recently, Weener Plastik signed an exclusive licence for the US and Canada with CCL Plastic Packaging and its subsidiary CCL Dispensing Systems. The companies, part of packaging group CCL Industries Inc. (Toronto / Canada; www.cclind.com), produce plastic tubes, tube and can closures and closure systems.
Founded in 1960,Weener Plastik, headed by Johan Schröder as general manager, has annual sales of around EUR 100m. It currently employs more than 400 at its German headquarters and an additional 300 at European subsidiaries. The company´s core competence is extrusion, with a comprehensive portfolio of consumer goods packaging. Its European production sites operate around 200 extrusion machines with clamping forces ranging from 25 t to 350 t.
