Packaging manufacturer acquires Orange Products in Brazil
On 11 October 2017, the Weener Plastics Packaging Group (Ede / The Netherlands; www.wppg.com) acquired the shares and operations of Orange Products Plasticos (OPB, Santo Amaro da Imperatriz, Santa Catarina / Brazil) for an undisclosed amount. OPB specialises in the production of roll-on balls for deodorants and has served international and local brands for 6 years.
Weener Plastics relocated company headquarters from Weener / Germany to Ede in early 2016 (see Plasteurope.com of 02.02.2016). In 2015, the company acquired all shares in its then joint venture Weener Globalpack Indústria Plástica, now named Weener Indústria Plástica (São Paulo / Brazil), from its partner Globalpack Indústria e Comércio (São Paulo; www.globalpack.com.br) – see Plasteurope.com of 08.10.2015. The group employs more than 3,000 people worldwide at 24 production sites in 16 countries.
