Acquisition of Norwegian cable duct systems supplier
Wavin (Zwolle / The Netherlands; www.wavin.com) is expected to take over Polyfemos (Alta / Norway; www.polyfemos.net) for an undisclosed sum, in a deal set to close before the end of the first quarter. The Norwegian company, with 20 employees and annual sales of EUR 5m, produces cable duct systems for "last mile" telecom applications. With this acquisition, the leading European manufacturer of plastic pipes, said it wants to secure access to the rapidly growing Scandinavian market. In France, Wavin already operates a larger plant for micro duct-related systems, for which it also claims to be a leading European player.
