Sale of 25% stake in Iplex Pipelines to Australia´s Crane Group / Technology pact
Plastic pipes producer Wavin (Zwolle / The Netherlands; www.wavin.com) has sold its 25% stake in Iplex Pipelines (Sydney / Australia; www.iplex.com.au) to the Crane Group (North Sydney / Australia; www.crane.com.au) for EUR 61m. Crane previously owned 75% of Iplex, which manufactures plastic pipeline systems for the Australia and New Zealand markets.
A leading manufacturer of non-ferrous metal products as well as plastic pipes and fittings, the Australian group also is the largest distributor of plumbing supplies in the region. As part of the transaction, the two companies have signed a ten-year technology agreement extending a cooperation dating back to 1997.
