WAVIN
Divestment: Concentration on core activities
The Dutch plastic piping and fittings manufacturer Wavin BV (PO Box 174, NL-8000 AD Zwolle) has sold off its daughter company Repox (glass fibre strengthened piping; turnover HFL 60m) to Gulf Eternit, Dubai. The 230-strong Repox workforce will not be affected by the deal, which should be completed in 1995. Wavin also expects to devest another non-core activity in 1996, namely the production of plastic household rubbish bags, an operation that has a workforce of 60 and a turnover of HFL 40m. SP Metal, France, will take over 75 % of this activity.
