WAVIN
Expansion for water supply systems / Production in Poland / Consortium in GB
The Dutch plastic pipe company Wavin BV (NL-8000 AD Zwolle; www.wavin.com) continues to expand. With the acquisition of 51% of the Polish Multilayer Pipe Company (MPC, PL-57150 Prusy Kondratowice) and a new sales consortium in the UK, the company is stepping up its activities in water supply systems.
According to Wavin, the Polish company MPC is specialised in the production of PE-X pipes for the supply of cold and hot water. The company employs around 40 people. Wavin will shift its current facility for PE-X and composite pipes to the new location and thus double the capacities there. The products are to be marketed throughout Europe. In the United Kingdom, Wavin has established a new sales consortium for heating systems with a company specialising in underfloor heating systems, Thermoboard, and Owens Corning Alcopor Ltd. These systems are to be marketed under the name “Osma Underfloor”. According to Wavin, the new activities will generate a total of nearly EUR 7m in new sales.
