Dutch bottle crate producer Wavin Trepak (PO Box 5, NL-7700 AA Hardenberg) has acquired all worldwide activities of bankrupt German plastics group BKG Berolina Kunststoff GmbH & Co KG (HQ: Nennhauser Damm 158, D-13591 Berlin). Three production sites meanwhile have been resold to Schoeller Plast GmbH (Zugspitzstr. 15, D-82049 Pullach). The takeover will widen the product range of Wavin Trepak, which considers itself one of the leading producers of plastic bottle crates in Europe. The Dutch group has production sites in The Netherlands, Spain and Poland, along with sales and distribution points in Germany and the Far East and a worldwide licensing business.

Before its bankruptcy, Berolina was also a leading European manufacturer of bottle crates, as well as storage and transport containers, with the focus of its activities in Germany. The Dutch group will improve its position on the German market with the takeover of Berolina´s materials handling business, which will be based in Berlin and trade as Wavin Trepak Behälter GmbH. Wavin also has acquired the Berolina bottle crate activities in Poland and Romania. German production sites at Hermeskeil (Grafenwald Kunststoff GmbH & Co Verarbeitungs- und Vertriebs KG, D-54411 Hermeskeil) as well as sites in Hungary and Croatia are now owned by Schoeller.
