Insulation materials manufacturer Von Roll (Breitenbach / Switzerland; www.vonroll.com) will in future supply French car maker Renault (Boulogne-Billancourt; www.renault.com) with more materials for electrical insulation applications in the group's electric vehicles. The Swiss company recently announced the finalisation of a five-year supply contract between Renault and Von Roll France, which is said to be in the double-digit million-euro range.
The products concerned are liquid epoxy resins and polyester imide electrical resins from the "GreenResins" product range with a low content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). These formulations are used for the protection of electric motors and their windings. Von Roll already supplies similar products for Renault's "Zoe" e-vehicle. The Swiss company sees itself as the market leader for electrical insulation materials for power generation and transmission.
