VISIOCORP
Renamed SMR following acquisition by Samvardhana Motherson
Visiocorp (www.visiocorp.com), a global manufacturer of rear view mirrors, will be renamed SMR (Samvardhana Motherson Reflectec) following the acquisition of its production and development facilities by Samvardhana Motherson Group (Noida, Delhi / India; www.motherson.com) in March 2009.
The Indian automotive component supplier acquired Visiocorp’s production and development facilities after they were carved out of the corporate shell, Visiocorp plc, which is under administration – see Plasteurope.com of 13.03.2009. “Development and production of advanced mirror systems now occupies a significant role within the Samvardhana Motherson Group,” says Vivek Chaand Sehgal, chairman of the new SMR. The name change will take effect across all 16 global locations on 1 August 2009.
