Managing director Karl-Martin Schellerer named VP Europe & Asia Vinyls Chemicals at Westlake
In addition to being managing director at PVC manufacturer Vinnolit (Ismaning / Germany; www.vinnolit.de), Karl-Martin Schellerer has been named vice president of Europe & Asia Vinyls Chemicals at parent company Westlake Chemical (Houston, Texas / USA; www.westlake.com) since 31 July 2017. Schellerer is now responsible for two Westlake joint ventures, PVC resins and films manufacturer Suzhou Huasu Plastics (Liujiagang, Jiangsu / China; www.huasugroup.com) and chlorine producer Taiwan Chlorine Industries (Kaohsiung / Taiwan; www.tciaxiall.com.tw).

Vinnolit has been part of the group since 2014. The company has a production capacity of 780,000 t/y of PVC, and has five locations in Germany (Burghausen, Gendorf, Knapsack, Cologne and Schkopau) as well as one in Hillhouse / UK. With around 1,400 employees, the US company recently generated sales of about EUR 900m. Besides Schellerer, other Westlake managers include president and CEO Albert Chao, executive VP and CFO Steven Bender and executive VP Vinyl Products Robert Buesinger.
