Vink Holdings (Weybridge / UK; www.vink.com) has entered into an agreement to buy the Polish and Hungarian distribution activities of Swiss-based supplier Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials (Tielt; www.mcam.com), which was formerly known as Quadrant (see Plasteurope.com of 01.03.2019). The deal is said to include the associated assets, employees and customer agreements, and the transaction is expected to be completed in February 2021, according to a joint statement. The Swiss company is a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemicals (Tokyo / Japan; www.m-chemical.co.jp/en).
Vink CEO David Williams said the deal allows the company to expand its existing plastics distribution and customer activities in Hungary. “Furthermore, we will from now on have a distribution centre in Poland to offer our full range of plastic products to Polish customers.” The company will also offer the Swiss supplier’s products; Vink and its associated operations have been working with MCAM for several years.
