UK technology group signs deals to develop graphene enhanced PAEK and resulting products
Technology group Versarien (Cheltenham / UK; www.versarien.com) is expanding into the graphene enhanced PAEK market. To that end, the company in December entered into two agreements. The first will focus on developing the materials, and foresees Versarien supplying PAEK materials specialist Scafell Organics (Nottingham / UK; www.scafellorganics.com) with its own graphene nano platelets to develop a new graphene enhanced PAEK range.
The second agreement goes downstream, beyond the supply of the new materials. Together with injection moulder Fern Plastic Products (Wolverhampton / UK; www.fern-plastics.co.uk), Versarien intends to supply finished products made of the new graphene enhanced PAEK. A niche market, key end markets likely include the aviation and aerospace segments.
