German distributor Velox (Hamburg; www.velox.com) has added to its portfolio a new grade of "Asaclean" purging compound, from Japanese chemicals group Asahi Kasei (Tokyo; www.asahi-kasei.co.jp). The high-temperature type Asaclean PF has been developed for temperatures from 280 °C to 420 °C, and is suitable for cleaning high-performance plastics such as PPS, PEI, PEEK and LCP, says Velox.
In contrast to Asaclean PX2, which Velox distributes, Asaclean PF contains no glass fibres. Asaclean PF cleans mechanically and can also be used for hot runners (with gates larger than 0.5 mm) as well as for sealing (at a maximum temperature of 370 °C).
Velox is the Asaclean distributor in Europe. At the upcoming "interplas 2017" trade fair in Birmingham / UK (see Plasteurope.com of 18.04.2017), the company will be presenting Asaclean PF, along with "CleanPlus" purging compounds, Pentac Polymers' (Groß-Umstadt / Germany; www.pentac.de) "Pentalloy BP" (PA 6/PP alloy), flame retardants such as "Nofia" and "Vemab" and Velox's own "PrimeTec" tailor-made solutions, which are "specialised and application-specific solutions for the plastics industry."
