VELOX
IonPhasE speciality polymers added to portfolio
Velox (Hamburg / Germany; www.velox.com) has signed an agreement with IonPhasE Oy (Espoo / Finland; www.ionphase.fi) to begin distributing the latter’s speciality polymers in the UK, Spain, Portugal, Turkey and eastern Europe. The distribution agreement between the two companies includes static dissipative polymers of the “IonPhasE IPE” range, which are predominantly used in the E&E, automotive, food and chemical sectors.

Made up of a combination of ionomers and polyelectrolytes, in the host polymer the products form a three-dimensional network through which they discharge electric currents. Plastics that contain “IonPhasE IPE” reportedly immediately take on antistatic qualities that can endure even low humidity levels and can be recycled several times over. In addition, “IonPhasE IPE” products do not contain any halogens, have been RoHs-certified and are available both as masterbatch and as compounds.
