PVC profile manufacturer partners with NCL Group / Joint venture for Indian window market

With the founding of a joint venture, Veka (Sendenhorst / Germany; www.veka.de) aims to strengthen its position in the Indian window market. As part of a strategic partnership with NCL Group (Hyderabad, Telangana / India; www.nclind.com), the profiles manufacturer has acquired, for an undisclosed price, a major stake in NCL Wintech (Hyderabad), a subsidiary of the Indian building supplier. Even though Veka has had its own subsidiary company on the subcontinent since 2003, the new joint venture, which also produces profiles, is to operate as an independent unit.
"The building segment in India will continue to grow at a fast rate in the next few years," says Andreas Hartleif, chairman of the executive board of directors at Veka. "We are convinced that PVC will benefit from this to an above-average extent." The partnership with NCL, he said, offers the possibility to diversify the product and service portfolio and to align itself more strongly to the needs of the Indian market. Apart from that, an expansion of production capacities is planned.
The Veka group has more than 36 sites worldwide, with a workforce of over 5,500 employees. In 2016, the company posted sales in excess of EUR 1 bn.
