VARROC LIGHTING SYSTEMS
EUR 47m modernisation investment at Czech plants / Fifty jobs to be created as part of growth strategy
Exterior automotive lighting component manufacturer, Varroc Lighting Systems, part of the Varroc Group (Aurangabad / India; www.varrocengg.com), is to invest CZK 1.28 bn (EUR 47m) at its plants in the Karviná and Nový Jicín districts of the Czech Republic, creating fifty new engineering and technical jobs in an area that suffers from high unemployment.
The company’s plants in Šenov u Nového Jicína and Rychvald in the Karviná district will be expanded over the next few years as advanced technology is installed, manufacturing facilities are modernised and research and development capabilities are increased.
The financing of the expansion through the country’s investment incentive scheme was managed by CzechInvest (www.czechinvest.org), the investment and business development agency of the Czech Republic.
Aleš Vrobel, financial manager of Varroc Lighting Systems, said: “The main reason for our investment incentives application was to obtain financial resources for implementing new investments that would support the ongoing growth of the company in the Czech Republic and thus also of the Moravia-Silesia region itself.”
Varroc Lighting Systems produces headlamps and rear lighting assemblies for major automotive brands including Bentley, Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Škoda and Tesla. The company employs over 2,300 people in the Czech Republic. The business was acquired by Varroc from US automotive parts supplier Visteon (Van Buren Township, Michigan; www.visteon.com) in 2012 – see Plasteurope.com of 15.03.2012.
