Preform manufacturer acquired by Gerot Lannach group
Austria’s Gerot Lannach Gruppe (Lannach; www.gerot.at) has acquired preform manufacturer Varioform PET Verpackagung (Reichersdorf / Austria; www.varioform.at) for an undisclosed amount of money. Gerot Lannach acquired the shares from the financing body Unternehmens Invest AG (UIAG, Wels / Austria; www.uiag.at) and from Oberbank (Linz / Austria; www.oberbank.at). According to UIAG, the new owner wants to maintain Varioform and even invest in the company.
UIAG first bought in to Varioform in July 2007 and most recently held 75.1% of the company’s shares. Varioform manufactures PET preforms for customers in the drinks and consumer goods industries. The company last generated sales of EUR 40m, selling some 750m preforms. Key sales markets are Austria and its neighbouring countries.
Gerot Lannach produces therapeutical and diagnostic medicinal applications. The company was founded in 2009 when Gerot and Lannacher Heilmittel merged. It is led by former Austrian economic minister Martin Bartenstein and his wife Ilse.
