On the European market, a number of plastics are expected to become more expensive in February, according to the latest polymer price forecasts from Plastics Information Europe. Plasteurope.com market analysts Julia Mihalkina and Martin Bäcker have based the anticipated increases, for example for LDPE and PP copolymer grades, on factors such as rising prices for precursors. But other issues are also likely to have a positive or negative impact on polymer price development. A similar picture, but with crucial deviations, can be seen for PVC. 

Signals from the US are causing enormous uncertainty on polymer markets. If US President-elect Donald Trump implements his protectionist trade policy, it is likely to impact imports. But material from Asia is also expected to remain expensive due to high freight rates.
