Agreement on acquisition of Fränkische's machinery operations
On 30 April 2009 Fränkische Rohrwerke Gebr. Kirchner (Königsberg / Germany; www.fraenkische.com) signed a preliminary agreement on the sale of its machinery business to machinery manufacturer Unicor (Hassfurt / Germany; www.unicor.com). The transaction, which comprises Fränkische’s entire machinery business, including service and spare parts, is currently being examined by the cartel office. Fränkische will be refocusing on its core business: the production and sale of pipe systems.
