Plastics distributor Ultrapolymers (Lommel / Belgium; www.ultrapolymers.com) has extended the polyolefins on offer from LyondellBasell (LYB, Houston, Texas / USA; www.lyondellbasell.com), with the addition of Quality Circular Polymers' (QCP, Geleen / The Netherlands; www.qcpolymers.com) rHDPE and rPP for Europe-wide distribution. QCP is a joint venture of LyondellBasell and Suez (Paris; www.suez.com) since late 2017 – see Plasteurope.com of 16.03.2018. LYB has been responsible for the sales and marketing of QCP's products since April 2018.
The recycled polymers are derived from post-consumer packaging waste. The rHDPE grades have a minimum of 95% recyclate content and are available in grey and ivory. These are suitable for blow-moulded articles such as containers for soaps, detergents and oils.
The rPP grades contain a recycled content from 75-95%, and are also available in grey and ivory, as well as black. They can be used to produce paint buckets, closures, caps, boxes, garden furniture and suitcases as well as for thin-wall injection moulding.
