ULTRAPOLYMERS
Two “Purell” healthcare grades added to range
Polymer distributor Ultrapolymers (Beerse / Belgium; www.ultrapolymers.com) has extended its portfolio of pharmacy and healthcare grades of “Purell” PE, PP from LyondellBasell (Rotterdam / The Netherlands; www.lyondellbasell.com) with the addition of “Purell” RP374R PP and “Purell” ACP6031D PE-HD.

“Purell” RP374R is a recently-introduced, FDA-approved PP random copolymer with high transparency for a range of packaging applications in pharmacy, healthcare, laboratory, and diagnostics. It can be sterilised with EtO (ethylene oxide) in an autoclave, offers high flexibility and is easy to process. Typical applications include empty disposable three-part-syringes.
“Purell” ACP6031D is a new PE-HD grade specially designed for extrusion blow moulding and injection blow moulding applications, where high stiffness and environmental stress resistance are important. Ultrapolymers says that it has very low levels of antioxidant additives, making it suitable for direct water contact. Further applications include injection blow-moulded units such as tablet packaging.
