As has recently become known, Swedish plastic film manufacturer Trioworld (Smålandsstenar; www.trioworld.com) took over compatriot recycling company Reviva Plastics (Korsberga; www.revivaplastics.se) back in July 2021. Reviva has been recycling plastics from agricultural applications since 2019. The sellers are Swedish investment companies Malmbäcks Invest, Entreprenörinvest Sverige, Lantbrukarnas Ekonomi and El-Fynd Holding i Sverige.

“Reviva has succeeded in an area of recycling where others have not: the recycling of heavily soiled agricultural plastics in such a way that it can be used to manufacture new plastics products,” said Trioworld CEO, Andreas Malmberg.

The polyethylene films manufacturer, which had changed its name in March this year from Trioplast to Trioworld (see Plasteurope.com of 03.03.2021), says it has been operating its own recycling lines since 1985, and has successively increased the use of regrind material in its products: according to information from Sweden, silage film “Trioblack 2020” was the first agricultural film to be awarded the German “Blue Angel” eco-label, which certifies products with a recyclate content of at least 80%.

Trioworld, founded in 1965, has been owned since 2018 by private equity firm Altor (see Plasteurope.com of 06.04.2018). At its production facilities in Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and France, the company manufactures film for agricultural, industrial packaging, logistics and construction sectors. With a workforce of around 1,350, the company most recently posted sales of EUR 650m.
