Following a career spanning almost four decades, Martin Pugh, current executive vice president and COO of styrenics producer Trinseo (Berwyn, Pennsylvania / USA; www.trinseo.com), will retire on 1 March 2017. Pugh first joined the company – known as Styron at the time – in 2013, and was appointed to this most recent position in November 2015, following the carve-out from former parent Dow Chemical (see Plasteurope.com of 13.10.2015). Before joining Trinseo Pugh served in a number of leadership positions at Styrolution, Ineos Nova, Nova Chemicals and Dow.
Following his departure, Trinseo will not be appointing someone else to the post of COO, which was established for an interim period of time only. Instead, Basic Plastics and Feedstocks president Tom Stedman as well as Performance Materials president Hayati Yarkadas will be reporting directly to group CEO Chris Pappas.
