TREXEL
Establishment of Chinese subsidiary to meet rising local “MuCell” demand
In order to better serve its automotive customer base in the Chinese mainland, Trexel (Woburn, Massachusetts / USA; www.trexel.com) has set up Trexel (Shenzhen) Technology. The new subsidiary will boast a processing and engineering team, sales staff, technical and repair services as well as spare parts logistics and aside from the hub in Shenzhen will also include a development centre in Shanghai, tasked with supporting both domestic and international automotive OEMs and tier one suppliers. Trexel (Shenzhen) will be headed by Roger Cheng, who previously served as technical manager at Trexel Hong Kong.

Group CEO Steve Braig said the reason behind the decision to set up a Chinese subsidiary was the need to better supply its Chinese customers with Trexel’s proprietary “MuCell” microcellular foam technology. He added that to date, the group’s Chinese customers had had to deal with US headquarters because Trexel did not have the appropriate business structure to handle transactions in China.
The formation does not affect the operations of Trexel Hong Kong, which will continue to support group customers in Australia and South East Asia.
