“Mucell” process increases market penetration
Advances in market penetration of the “MuCell” microcellu- lar foam injection moulding technology are the focus of the March 2005 Trexel (Woburn, Massachusetts / USA; www.trexel.com) company magazine. Engel (A-4311 Schwertberg; www.engel.at), for example, now has a 1,500 t MuCell machine with a 120mm screw available for mould trials at its development laboratory in St Valentin, Austria. Japan´s Yamato Industry (Tokyo; www.yamatokogyo.co.jp) is using the technology to produce a paper control unit for Ricoh copiers, while garden products manufacturer Gardena (D-89079 Ulm; www.gardena.com) recently added the MuCell process to its technology portfolio with the installation of a 65 t injection moulding machine from Krauss-Maffei.
