Biaxially-oriented PP (BOPP) film producer Treofan (Raunheim / Germany; www.treofan.com) has apparently ceased negations on a potential acquisition of Indian BOPP film manufacturer Max Speciality Films (New Delhi; http://maxspecialityfilms.com), a subsidiary of New Delhi-based Max India. In a statement released by the German BOPP producer, it said the parties mutually called off negotiations that were first announced in September 2012 – see Plasteurope.com of 12.09.2012.
Treofan CEO, Peter Vanacker, “Within the framework of our new corporate strategy, the focus currently is clearly on successfully restructuring and profitably growing our core businesses in Europe and the Americas.” He added that the company plans to grow its global presence through establishing strategic cooperations or licence agreements with trusted partners. Treofan’s continued cooperation with Max Specialty Films forms part of this concept, he said.
